You want to make sure that your horse stays nice and healthy throughout the winter. There are several things that you can do to make sure that your horse looks just as good in the spring as they did in the fall. So, what are some things that you can do?

Skin/Coat Supplements

One thing that you can do is to make sure that you add in some supplements, such as from Forest Farmacy, into their feed. Since your horse won't be able to get out and graze in their pasture, there are going to miss some of the nutrients that they would normally get from that graze. You could look for supplements that include things like biotin, which is a B complex vitamin and has been shown to have a good effect on skin and coat health. If you don't want to buy a separate supplement, you may be able to find feed that already has those supplements in it. You can probably find the supplements at your local farm store or wherever you buy your feed. You may also want to check at a natural health food store, if you can't find anything that you really want. If you do, make sure that you are very careful and check to make sure that it will not be harmful to your horse.

Plenty of Exercise

Your horse may lose some condition while they are shut up in their barn over the winter. They won't be able to get out and spend a lot of time outside like they would in the other seasons. Because of that, you want to make sure that they get a little bit of exercise each day. That will let them get the exercise that they need to keep condition and help them burn off energy that they would otherwise not be able to deal with. If the temperature isn't too cold and there isn't too much snow, you may want to let your horse go outside and run around in a paddock so that they get that exercise. If you are worried about the temperature, you can put a blanket on their backs and wraps on their legs.

If you have horses, you want to make sure that you do everything you can to make sure that they are taken care of well. Caring for a horse in the winter can be tricky because of the weather, but it is possible to do.
